Willow Court Memory Care Neighborhood
Mission Statement
We dedicate ourselves to preserving the dignity of residents experiencing Alzheimer's and other related dementias, by providing respect, loving care and compassion.
Memory Care Neighborhood
Willow Court provides a safe and dignified home for people with dementia, giving specialized attention to the needs of every individual.
Willow Court is our dementia-specific memory care neighborhood designed to care for individuals with mid stage Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias. Willow Court is a homelike, activity-based environment that allows residents the independence to choose areas of activity or respite as they desire. Large group, small group and "one-on-one normalization" activities ensure that each resident's day is well modulated with the appropriate amount of stimulation and that their social needs are met. Residents with memory loss can thrive in Willow Court's low stress environment. Willow Court's residents enjoy moving about the wing, which includes a large dining/great room space, a kitchen area with diner style counters, a meditation area, a living room/lounge area and a fish tank. This environment allows the residents to maintain their highest level of independence while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Person Directed Care
Willow Court staff focuses on the essence of each resident. Using an approach that is supportive and calming, the residents are coaxed, cued and sequenced through their day. Staff helps the residents focus on what memories remain, not on what has been lost.
Our staff has received education through the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and continuing in-house education on the progressive stages of dementia, memory loss, communication skills, validation and interventions of mild, moderate and severe dementia.
